STAR TREK MAGIC MOMENTS

The Enemy Within
Kirk in the briefing room when Sulu hails the ship.
Sulu. "Hotline direct to the captain. Are we that far gone?"
Kirk's look of despair.
Also later, McCoy's remarks to Kirk about his 'weaker' side. "...And perhaps that's where man's essential courage comes from. For you see, he was afraid, and you weren't."

The Ultimate Computer
Kirk. "D'you know the one 'All I ask is a tall ship'?"
McCoy. "It's a line from a poem, a very old poem isn't it?"
Kirk. "Twentieth century Earth. 'All I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by'. You could feel the wind at your back in those days, the sounds of the sea beneath you. And even if you take away the wind and the water, it's still the same. The ship is yours, you can feel her. And the stars are still there, Bones."

Devil in the Dark
Kirk holding a phaser on the Horta.
Spock. "Captain, I just read some fresh signs. The creature is in this area. I will take a life form reading."
Kirk. "That's not necessary, Mr Spock. I know exactly where the creature is."
Spock. "Where, Captain?"
Kirk. "Ten feet away from me."

The Naked Time
Sulu in the corridor with the rapier. "Richelieu! Beware!"

City on the Edge of Forever
Kirk coming home with the food and goods and Spock requesting platinum. His complaints about the primitive tools. His comment to Edith: "I am endeavouring, ma'am, to construct a mnemonic memory circuit using stone knives and bearskins."

Tomorrow is Yesterday
Kirk being interrogated.
Colonel. "How did you get in?"
Kirk. "I popped in out of thin air."
And, later. "All right Colonel, the truth is, I'm a little green man from Alpha Centauri, a beautiful place you ought to see it."
Colonel. "I am going to lock you up for two hundred years."
Kirk. "That ought to be just about right."

Amok Time
Spock's delight when he sees Kirk alive. "Captain! Jim!"

Journey to Babel
Kirk. "Mr Spock, we'll leave orbit in two hours. Would you care to beam down and visit your parents?"
Spock. "Captain, Ambassador Sarek and his wife are my parents."
Later, Amanda. "Logic, logic, I'm sick to death of logic. Do you want to know how I feel about your logic?!"
Spock. "Emotional, isn't she?"
Sarek. "She has always been that way."
Spock. "Indeed. Why did you marry her?"
Sarek. "At the time it seemed the logical thing to do."

Errand of Mercy
Kirk's fury when he realises the Organians are preventing the war he didn't want.
Kirk. "...we have the right -"
Ayelborne. "To wage war, Captain? To kill millions of innocent people? To destroy life on a planetary scale? Is that what you're defending?"
Kirk. "Well no one wants war ..." etc.

Bread and Circuses
Spock testing the bars of the cell.
McCoy. "Angry Mr Spock, or frustrated perhaps?"
Spock. "Such emotions are foreign to me, doctor. I am merely testing the strength of the door."
McCoy. "For the fifteenth time."
And McCoy. "I know why you're not afraid to die, Spock. You're more afraid of living. Each day you stay alive is just one more day you might slip and let your human half peek out. That's it, isn't it? Insecurity. Why, you wouldn't know what to do with a genuine warm, decent feeling."
Spock. "Really doctor?"
McCoy."I know. I'm worried about Jim, too."

Balance of Terror
Romulan commander to Kirk. "I regret that we meet in this way. You and I are of a kind. In a different reality, I could have called you friend."

Mirror Mirror
Kirk. "In every revolution there's one man with a vision."
Mirror Spock. "Captain Kirk, I shall consider it."

The Tholian Web
The scene in Kirk's quarters watching his last orders.
McCoy's chagrin when he's seen them. "Spock I - ah, I'm sorry. It does hurt, doesn't it?"
Spock. "What would you have me say, doctor?"

Return to Tomorrow
Kirk's 'speech' in favour of going ahead with the 'body lending'. "Risk, risk is our business. That's what this starship is all about. That's why we're aboard her."

Friday's Child
McCoy. "Representing the High Teer: Leonard James Akaar. "
Spock. "The child was named Leonard James Akaar?"
McCoy. "Has a kind of a ring to it, don't you think, James?"
Kirk. Yes, I think it's a name destined to go down in galactic history, Leonard. What do you think, Spock?"
Spock. "I think you're both going to be insufferably pleased with yourselves for at least a month. Sir."

Star Trek IV - The Voyage Home
The moment when the crew sees the Enterprise 'A'.

The Offspring
Lal to Data. "I love you, father."

11001001
The moment when Picard and Riker emerge from the holodeck to discover the ship on red alert and deserted. (Don't ask me why!).
Also, the Binars. "You might have said no."
